Sir, – Reading Conor Pope’s recent interactions with Ryanair (Pricewatch, July 21st), one might be forgiven for suspecting Trump administration mouthpiece Karoline Leavitt is moonlighting as the Ryanair spokesperson, given her reputation for loyally and robustly defending the indefensible as well as for slinging insults at journalists who have the temerity to question her boss’s methods. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – As I write this aboard Vueling’s daily flight from Dublin to Barcelona, I am intrigued to read in your newspaper a full page of readers’ complaints about Ryanair’s systems.
According to Conor Pope, these were firmly rebutted by Ryanair as spurious customer complaints.
I can’t help noticing that today Ryanair announced Q3 profits, which were down 34 per cent on 2025. This, they say, is attributable among other things to summer fares looking “set to fall amid consumer nervousness around the Iran war and broader economy”.
Or could it be people like me fly with alternative airlines who appreciate low fares and can also give good customer service? – Yours, etc,
