Sir, – To the west we have a globally important leader who has turned out to be a disaster for democracy, for social justice, for women, for the environment, for peace, for the world economy, and not least for good taste. About the only thing one can say about him is that he is not boring.
To the east there is another national leader, a decent man, who seems to have become beset on all sides by those who want to get rid of him. From reading the commentary surrounding this it would appear that the main thrust of the argument for his dismissal is that he is ... boring.
