Sir, – Kathleen Kelleher (Letters, May 11th) writes of “the duty of women to control their fertility to avoid pregnancy”. How ironic, given that so many of those historically opposed to abortion would also have opposed the use of contraception and comprehensive sex education, which might have allowed women some agency in their own reproductive lives. When will this judgment and policing of women’s bodies and their private healthcare decisions end?
What about the duty of men? After all, every pregnancy begins with an ejaculation. – Yours, etc,
BERNIE LINNANE,
Dromahair,
