Sir, – Unlike Frank McNally, I wasn’t at Stormont for the Belfast Agreement talks (An Irishman’s Diary, October 11th). I was glued to the TV and radio. Truth be told, I was pessimistic about the outcome, based on my experiences of growing up in the North.
Suspense is the glue that holds the play Agreement together. Credit to Owen McCafferty for turning days of political bickering and shuffling paperwork into something people would pay to watch.
Owen McCafferty has delivered with this play; now it’s up to the political leaders in the North to deliver a future where hope, inclusivity, and prosperity reign. – Yours, etc,
ENDA CULLEN,
