Sir, – Further to recent correspondence (Letters, October 8th and 9th), I have lived in an apartment for 18 years and never met a canvasser for any election nor has a canvasser having difficulty entering the block ever called through the call button to alert the occupier that they are at the door as a way to gain access. Funnily though, campaign literature, not sent through An Post, seems to make it into the internal post boxes. – Yours, etc,
NIAMH BYRNE,

Sir, – Claire Bradley (Letters, October 8th) may complain about not getting canvassed during elections but as a homeowner with a front door, I feel she is making a positive case for apartment living. – Yours, etc,
