Sir, – As someone with a similarly mixed lineage, and who grew up in the other great northwestern English city, Liverpool, but left many years ago, Sarah Moss’s article “I don’t have a straight answer to ‘Where are you from?’”, Weekend, September 21st) had great resonance for me.
Her affection for Manchester came through strongly in her description of that city’s radical heritage.
