Sir, – I do wonder at some hoteliers. I have had occasion to stay a number of times at a small Sligo hotel and, each morning, I am forced to listen to a local London station with news of local traffic problems.
At another rural hotel, while eating my breakfast peacefully, I am suddenly forced to endure some infantile Donald Duck cartoon at a high decibel level.
Of course, it’s not much better here in Connemara.
When the publican wanted to view Manchester United, when all the locals wanted to see the GAA match, it was time for me to find a different pub, which I did. – Yours, etc,
