Sir, – I am increasingly irritated by the fashionable mode in today’s documentary film-making to bring the background music to the foreground.
This development is to enhance the mood, usually with drawling, dreary, deep-sounding music.
Unfortunately, it drowns out what the narrators and participants are saying.
While I understand that this mode is here to stay, I would dearly love to hear the commentary and dialogue as well. – Yours, etc,
