Sinn Féin and abstentionism

Sir, – Further to recent correspondence (Letters, May 24th), it never fails to amaze me that people who do not live in the North fail to understand that a huge proportion of the electorate vote for Sinn Féin’s Westminster candidates due in large part to the abstentionist policy. It’s almost as if they don’t want to understand what it’s like to be Irish in the six counties. – Yours, etc,
