Sir, – “Dublin Airport fined €10 million for dirty toilets and security queue waiting times” (Business, March 7th).
The airport was fined for long delays in security and lack of cleanliness in washrooms and a terminal, based on passenger surveys. In the same article, we learn that “the State company will not pay the fine directly. Instead the authority has factored the penalty into DAA’s passenger charges, which the business levies on airlines.”
As usual, corporate fines mean nothing in this country. The customer always pays. – Yours, etc,
TINA DERMODY,
