Sir, – For as long as I can remember, watching the darts World Championships on television has been a Christmas tradition (“Luke Humphries denies teenager Luke Littler World Championship glory”, Sport, January 3rd). Back in the day that meant the old BDO World Championships from the Lakeside on BBC, with the stage graced by legends such as Eric Bristow and Jocky Wilson; in recent decades it has been the PDC World Championships from London’s “Ally Pally”. This year saw Luke Littler, at only 16 years of age, light up the tournament with a fairytale run to the final. He’s an inspiration to all, young and old. Follow your dreams, because dreams can come true. – Yours, etc,
