Sir, – In the context of safety promotion and behavioural change, we focus on the three “E’s”: education, enforcement and engineering. We have witnessed far too many road deaths and serious injuries but we seem to have focussed extensively on education and enforcement to date. I drove 75km yesterday morning in patchy, thick fog. The roads were only inconsistently marked with white lines for approximately 10km of my journey. Is it too much to ask that our rural roads get road markings and cat’s eyes as a matter of urgency, or is this too much effort? – Yours, etc,
