Sir, – The news that “New guidelines may limit households to one parking spot in some developments” is a welcome one in principle (News, August 31st). However, a continued lack of enforcement against footpath parking will only lead to vulnerable road users being put at risk. A clear strategy of enforcement with an unambiguous authority responsible is essential for this to be workable in practice. – Yours, etc,
