Sir, – I don’t know whose idea it was to plaster every other window in some Dart trains with stickers of porpoises, plants, otters and whatnot, promoting the “biodiversity” of Dublin Bay, but I can tell you the fact they obscure the view was not appreciated by a German family travelling north from Greystones. “Quatsch” (rubbish), the mother said of the stickers as the foursome moved seats several times, before politely seating themselves at one of the unstickered windows, beside a young woman who was texting the whole time. Cute though some may find these caricatures of sea life and shore dwellers, might Iarnród Éireann consider removing them so travellers and tourists alike could better appreciate what is surely one of the most magnificent train rides in Europe? – Yours, etc,
MICHAEL RODDY,
Dún Laoghaire,
Co Dublin.
