Sir, – Damian Cullen’s loss of his family dog, Roxie, is very relatable (“I’m begging you, if someone’s loses a pet, do not ask: ‘Will you get another one?’” Your Family, July 10th).
My Toby will be gone five years tomorrow – July 12th – and people still ask me if I got another one.
They mean well of course.
However, it would simply be impossible to replace the unconditional love and the emotional heartbreak that this bundle of fur brought, all rolled up into one, in their relatively short life – also 10 years.
