Sir, – What exactly is Marty Morrissey apologising for? He got a loan of a car from a private company in exchange for turning up at some of their events, thereby not needing to claim a car or travel allowance from RTÉ. Surely this was saving the organisation money in the long run. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – My understanding of an ad hoc arrangement is that it is temporary, impromptu and for a particular purpose. A good example would be Marty Morrissey driving a Renault car to MC one, or even 12, of their functions. Having an arrangement that continues on a full-time basis and lasts five years stretches the concept of adhocism a little bit. – Yours, etc,
