Sir, – What exactly is Marty Morrissey apologising for? He got a loan of a car from a private company in exchange for turning up at some of their events, thereby not needing to claim a car or travel allowance from RTÉ. Surely this was saving the organisation money in the long run. – Yours, etc,
ROBERT CHESTER,
Dublin.
Sir, – My understanding of an ad hoc arrangement is that it is temporary, impromptu and for a particular purpose. A good example would be Marty Morrissey driving a Renault car to MC one, or even 12, of their functions. Having an arrangement that continues on a full-time basis and lasts five years stretches the concept of adhocism a little bit. – Yours, etc,
CONOR WALSH,
Co Sligo.
Sir, – I would have thought that Marty would have been a Morrissey Minor man. – Yours, etc,
SEAN SEARTAN,
Co Tipperary.
Sir, – Considering the current RTÉ controversy I wish to apologise and make a full and honest disclosure to the nation.
As a sales rep with Erin Foods, I had a similar experience to Marty Morrissey, I had the use of a Renault car for years. – Yours, etc,
MICHAEL C O’CONNOR,
Waterford.
A chara, – Will Marty Morrissey be commentating on the British Grand Prix this weekend? – Is mise,
LOMAN Ó LOINGSIGH,
Dublin 24.
Sir, – A Limerick for the weekend that’s in it?
Sam Maguire and Liam McCarthy,
Made sure that my mileage was hearty,
I was like Jay Leno,
In my fancy Renault,
But now, Holy Moses,
it’s no Marty Party!
– Yours, etc,
MARTIN SWEENEY,
Dublin 7.
Sir, – Did Marty Morrissey’s “on loan” Renault car come with a five-year warranty? – Yours, etc,
PAUL DELANEY,
Dalkey.
