Sir, – I note it is reported (World, June 20th) that Rishi Sunak, the UK prime minister and leader of the Conservative Party, declined to vote on the House of Commons privilege committee’s findings on Boris Johnson’s behaviour on the basis that he did not want to “influence” how MPs might vote. I was under the impression that the primary role of a leader was to provide leadership. – Yours, etc,
PAUL WALSH,
Skerries,
Co Dublin.
