Sir, – Earlier this year, the DAA had been proposing a drop-off/pick-up charge on drivers dropping off or collecting passengers to or from Dublin Airport. Disincentivising the use of personal vehicles, as part of the DAA’s wider sustainability agenda, would result in the more efficient use of the airport’s road network, it was explained. Except that such intending passengers are now “encouraged to consider” being dropped off by a friend or relative.
Just a case of should have seen it coming, I guess. – Yours, etc,
