Sir, – Stephen Collins suggests that political parties and the media should do more to educate the public and help to purge them of their Eurosceptic tendencies (“Why does Ireland elect so many Eurosceptic MEPs?”, Opinion & Analysis, January 20th).
I would suggest, however, that a questioning and somewhat sceptical public is actually healthy for democracy and the European institutions. – Yours, etc,
