Sir, – Reading Derek Scally’s article (Weekend, November 26th) about Blue Nun reminded me also of the famous Black Tower – the wine in the black bottle. We only knew it was gone when it was gone, never when it was going!
Also, putting the red wine in the fridge to keep it nice and chilled was once quite the thing. Shockin’ altogether. – Yours, etc,
