Sir, – Michael McDowell’s hope that an invitation to Britain to “come back” to the EU would find a positive response (Opinion & Analysis, November 23rd) is reminiscent of imploring the addict to “get help”.
Britain would have to recognise its situation and want to be helped. – Yours, etc,
