Sir, – Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney says Israel treats Palestinians “in a way that is unacceptable and illegal”, (News, September 18th). No argument there. How then is it acceptable for our Government to seek out Israel as a new market for Irish beef? Last year we welcomed veterinary inspectors from Israel with a view to exporting cattle there. Irish agricultural exports appear to have no limits, no ethics.
As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words.
