Inflation and hiring a car

Sir, – Inflation in hotel room rates is not the only problem.

Two friends were in Spain recently and hired a car for ¤40 a day, or ¤500 for the two weeks.

Two other friends from Luxembourg spent last week travelling around Ireland in a hire car at a cost of €200 a day, or €1,400 for the week.
