Sir, – Further to Aiden Roddy’s letter (June 3rd), the Depp versus Heard shipwreck is just a 21st-century manifestation of the ancient Roman idea of bread and circuses.
The main differences in the modern variant is that while we, the mob, still get to see the circus, it is the lawyers who walk away with the bread. – Yours, etc,
