LUSAKA - Zambia voted yesterday despite a boycott by the main opposition and pressure from western countries who fear the election is largely cosmetic. President Frederick Chiluba is set for a second term after barring a challenge from his only strong rival, "Father of the Nation" Dr Kenneth Kaunda, whom he beat in the first free elections in 1991 on a free market and democracy platform.
