THE HAGUE - The Netherlands and Denmark yesterday separately announced their recognition of Yugoslavia which now consists only of Serbia and Motenegro. The move brings the two nations into line with their European Union partners Britain, which recognised the rump Yugoslavia last Tuesday, and France, which did so in February.

Meanwhile in Belgrade Yugoslav authorities yesterday refused to free 13 Bosnian Muslim refugees detained for alleged war crimes after a UN plane was sent to collect them. But they said the real reason the 13 were held may have been to save them being snatched by Bosnian Serb police as they crossed hostile territory.
