A 16-year-old is being questioned by detectives over a botched tiger kidnapping.
Gardaì are hunting for a second assailant after the youth was arrested in Limerick. The arrest follows the abduction of two other teens at gunpoint over the weekend.
The pair were in a house in the Castletroy area of the city on Sunday night when two armed raiders forced their way in.
The teens were threatened and forced into a vehicle, but one of the men was released a short time later.
The second - a 19-year-old whose relations are believed to run a post office - was driven around for a number of hours before he was taken to a field in Donoughmore, about 8km from the city.
Gardaì said he managed to flee and raise the alarm.
A youth was arrested nearby, in the early hours of Monday in connection with the kidnapping.
He can be held for up to three days at Henry Street Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
