A 17-year-old youth was recovering in hospital yesterday evening after an assault in Stillorgan in south Co Dublin, on Friday evening.
A spokeswoman for St Vincent's University Hospital, where he was taken after the assault, declined to comment on his condition.
However, it is understood that he was moved out of intensive care yesterday.
The attack happened at approximately 11pm on Friday night, when several youths were refused access to a house on Stillorgan Grove.
A row broke out, in which the youth received at least one blow to the body.
He was brought back to his house, where an ambulance and the Garda were called.
Speaking at the scene of the attack yesterday, one local youth, who did not wish to be identified, said he had seen the young man being kicked on the ground by some others.
However, this could not be confirmed last night.
Two males, one who was aged 16 and the other aged 18, were subsequently arrested by gardaí under the Public Order Act.
They were later released without charge, pending further Garda investigations.
