Moscow - Mr Boris Yeltsin's spokesman dismissed talk yesterday of any rift between the Russian President, currently in hospital recovering from a stomach ulcer, and the Prime Minister, Mr Yevgeny Primakov.

"There is full mutual understanding between them. There are no frictions between them," Mr Dmitry Yakushkin told a news briefing amid reports that Mr Yeltsin did not fully back Mr Primakov's call for a political truce between the Kremlin, government and parliament.
