Moscow - Russian President Boris Yeltsin yesterday interrupted his holiday at a Black Sea resort to return to Moscow for talks with the Prime Minister, Mr Vladimir Putin.
Russian news agencies said the meeting took place at Mr Yeltsin's residence outside Moscow and quoted sources as saying the talks included Russia's campaign against Chechen rebels and the almost 200,000 refugees fleeing the conflict. Mr Putin later dispatched the emergencies minister, Mr Sergei Shoigu, to the region in an attempt to resolve the refugee crisis.
Mr Putin met President Clinton in Oslo on Tuesday. It is understood Mr Clinton told him more civilian deaths would undermine world opinion of Russia.
