Woman who as a baby was left in Burger King finds birth mother

‘Looking for my birth mother . . . She abandoned me in the Burger King bathroom’

A woman who as a baby was abandoned in the bathroom of a fast-food restaurant says she has found her birth mother after an appeal on Facebook.

Katheryn Deprill, (27), who was known as the Burger King Baby, said she met her biological mother for the first time in a lawyer's office. She added that she felt "pure joy" and it was like "looking in a mirror".

Ms Deprill began her quest on March 2nd by posting a photo on Facebook. It showed her holding a sign saying, “Looking for my birth mother . . . She abandoned me in the Burger King bathroom only hours old, Allentown PA. Please help me find her by sharing my post.”

Ms Deprill, an Emergency Medical Technician, is a married mother of three who lives outside Allentown in South Whitehall Township.

“I got the hug that I had wanted for the last 27 years, and that broke the ice,” she said. “I asked if I could have it, and she said, ‘absolutely’, and just held her arms open, and the rest is history. We are definitely going to have a relationship.”
