Speculation is mounting in Washington as to whose head will roll next in the Trump administration, after the resignation of national security adviser Michael Flynn on Monday night.

US president Donald Trump’s fiefdom is in chaos, with the precariousness of press secretary Sean Spicer’s position being highlighted in the US press, as well as that of Trump’s chief of staff Reince Priebus and his senior aide Stephen Miller.

Flynn’s resignation came after revelations he had discussed US sanctions on Russia with the Russian ambassador to the United States before Trump took office and misled vice-president Mike Pence about the conversations.

Chaotic management
