Former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf has escaped unharmed after a bomb attack in the capital Islamabad, police said.
The bomb exploded near his convoy as the general was being moved from the military hospital in Rawalpindi where he has been staying to his home in Islamabad.
Gen Musharraf’s convoy had just crossed a bridge entering the capital when the bomb went off, police officials said.
The general’s spokeswoman, Aasia Ishaq, said he was fine and reached his home safely.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. Gen Musharraf survived multiple assassination attempts while he was in office, and when he returned to the country last year the Pakistani Taliban vowed to kill him.
