Atlanta - A construction worker stranded on a crane above a blazing inferno in billowing smoke and intense heat was rescued here yesterday in highly-dramatic fashion by a firefighter hitched to a helicopter.
Television news channels interrupted their regular programming to broadcast dramatic live footage of the rescue effort which was complicated by high winds and fears the fire might cause the crane to collapse.
