The semi state agency, Shannon Development, is to appoint a contractor to start work before the end of June on a £3.7 million Castle Lane King John's Castle project in Limerick city.
The announcement follows the securing by the company of an underlease for the 13th century King John's Castle from Limerick Corporation.
The 50 year sublease was granted at an acrimonious City Council meeting on Monday.
