Motorists using the M50 can expect delays over the weekend and next week while improvement work is carried out.

To facilitate the erection of 24 pre-cast concrete beams for an over bridge at the

M50-N4 motorway interchange, traffic on the M50 will be diverted up the slip road to the Liffey Valley roundabout and then back down the slip road to rejoin the M50.

Tonight, works will take place from 10pm to 8am and the motorway will close in both directions under the interchange.

On Monday and Tuesday the M50 northbound under the interchange will close between 10pm and 6am.

Until Thursday the M50 northbound between N4 and N7 interchanges will be reduced to one lane at various locations from 10pm to 6am.

And until next Friday, excluding weekends, the Luas exit merging lane on the N7 Naas Road outbound will be reduced in length between 10am and 4pm.

AA Roadwatch has also warned motorists that until the end of February 2007, traffic management will be in place on the M50 northbound and southbound between Tallaght and the West-Link bridge during the day and also at night.
