Primary school children will spend tomorrow learning about the importance of trees and the wider environment as part of the State's fourth annual tree day, organised by the Tree Council of Ireland.

The Minister for Education and Science, Dr Woods, planted a birch tree at Scoil Eoin, Kilbarrack, Co Dublin, yesterday.

As part of tree day, children will be taken on guided woodland walks organised by Coillte, Duchas and Dublin Corporation.
