A woman in her 30s is in a serious but stable condition in Cork University Hospital after her car collided with a bus full of students this afternoon.

The woman is believed to have been travelling to Waterford soon after midday when her car collided with the bus carrying 45 children from an American and Canadian christian group to a summer camp.

None of the children were injured in the crash, which happened two miles outside Midleton on the main road from Cork to Waterford.
