The Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin has just appointed its first woman master warden

The Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin has just appointed its first woman master warden. Ms Ida Delamer carried out her first official function last night when she presided over the goldsmiths' 363rd annual charter dinner at Dublin Castle.

Ms Delamer is an architectural graduate and was past president of the Silver Society of Great Britain. The Company of Goldsmiths was set up in 1637 to supervise the testing and hallmarking of all gold and silver.
