GARDAÍ ARE not treating as suspicious the death of a woman at her home in north Dublin and do not believe it is linked to another incident in the same house that left a second woman wounded.

The dead woman has been named as Deirdre Duggan (44), a prison officer with an address at Templeview Grove, Clare Hall, Dublin 17. Ms Duggan had been working at Dublin’s Mountjoy Prison.

Gardaí were alerted to an issue at the Clare Hall property just after midnight on Friday. They found Ms Duggan dead in bed. Another woman in the house, who was Ms Duggan’s partner, was found to have sustained arm injuries. A postmortem revealed Ms Duggan had fallen and cut herself and had died after losing a large amount of blood.
