Gardaí do not believe the death of a woman whose body was found in west Dublin on Monday was suspicious.

The 55-year-old's body was discovered by gardaí at a house on Cannonbrooke Avenue just before 7pm on Monday. Concerned neighbours had raised the alarm after the woman had not been seen for a week.

The Garda Technical Bureau carried out a preliminary examination. Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis was to complete a postmortem last night. A Garda spokeswoman said: "It doesn't appear at this stage that there is anything suspicious."
