London - A young woman believed to be Britain's youngest convicted female rapist yesterday broke down as she was sentenced at the Old Bailey to seven years for her part in a gang rape.
Claire Marsh (18) was among a group of up to 12 youths who attacked a 37year-old woman as she walked along a canal towpath in July last year, pinning her to the ground and ripping off her clothes before she was gang-raped. Marsh's two co-accused, aged 15 and 18, were sentenced to five years in a young offenders' institution after admitting the rape.
Marsh had denied the attack but was found guilty by a jury last month.
