Woman killed in Enniscorthy car crash

A 39-year-old woman died when the car she was travelling in crashed into a pillar in Co Wexford early this morning.

A 39-year-old woman died when the car she was travelling in crashed into a pillar in Co Wexford early this morning.

The woman was a passenger in a car that crashed on the N11 at The Oil, Oylegate, Enniscorthy at around 5.15 a.m.

There were no other vehicles involved.

The driver of the car was not seriously injured.

The dead woman was brought to Wexford General Hospital.

Her death brings the number of people killed on the roads so far this year to 378, an increase of 52 on the same period last year.
