A woman was injured on the grounds of the K Club last evening when gusts of wind measuring over 60km/h blew down a number of trees.

A branch from one of the trees on the main avenue through the Ryder Cup course fell and hit the woman, injuring her arm.

An ambulance was called to the scene but the woman's injuries were last night not thought to be serious.

Hoarding at the north terminal drop-off point also broke loose during the stormy gusts of wind. All temporary structures were evacuated shortly before 10pm last night.
