A woman in her early seventies died in a house fire in Kilkenny city yesterday.
The blaze at Fatima Place was reported at 11.25am and brought under control within minutes by two units of Kilkenny fire service, which is located a short distance from the house.
The woman, who has not been named, was married with three children.
Gardaí say that the cause of the fire is being investigated but is not being treated as suspicious.
