Woman (79) killed crossing road in Dublin

A 79-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by a car in north Dublin today.

A 79-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by a car in north Dublin today.

She died after being struck by an articulated lorry as she crossed the road at the North Circular Road at Phibsboro, at 12.40 pm.

She was pronounced dead shortly afterwards at the Mater Hospital.

The incident is under investigation, and gardaí are asking witnesses to contact them at Mountjoy Garda Station on 01-6668600.

The woman's name has not yet been released.
