A 39-year-old woman was killed early this morning while walking on a Co Mayo road.
The pedestrian was struck by a van on a minor road at Bunnahowen, Glencastle shortly before 7am.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body was removed to Mayo General Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The scene is being examined by Garda forensic collision investigators and the diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses if anyone with information is asked to contact Belmullet Garda station on 097-81910.
