A 23-year-old woman was left in shock after she was abducted from her home in Derry last night and taken across the Border to Co Donegal.

The woman answered a call to her door in Sandhill Park shortly after 9.15 p.m., a PSNI spokeswoman said. Four men, one armed with a knife, forced their way into the woman’s home and threatened her. Police say the woman did not know any of the intruders.

They forced the woman into a stolen silver Rover MGZR car and drover her over the Border to Grainne’s Gap near Muff, Co Donegal. The men got out of the car but ordered the woman to stay inside. The woman left the car at dawn and flagged down a passing motorist.

The motorist took her to the Border, where she was met by a friend. The car was later recovered by the Garda. Detectives in Derry are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward, particularly the motorist who picked up the woman this morning.
