Gardaí in Co Cork are appealing for witnesses to a fatal crash near Fermoy yesterday.

A 12-year-old boy died in the crash, which happened on the N8 Cork-to-Dublin road at Corrin near Fermoy and involved a collision involving two cars and a lorry.

The boy was a backseat passenger in one of the cars accompanied by three other children and a female driver.

The other chidlren and driver were brought to Cork University Hospital where their injuries are not thought to be life threatening. The female driver of the other car was uninjured.

Elsewhere, gardaí have released the name of the pedestrian killed in a crash in Navan on Saturday night. He was John Kinch (54) from Walkinstown Drive, Dublin 12.
